RTE have launched the new DTT (digital terrestrial
television) service called 'Saorview', this is to comply with the
analogue switch off (ASO) in Europe that will take place
24th Oct 2012,
if you receive the Irish channels via an aerial & an analogue TV you
will lose the Irish stations on 24th Oct 2012,
TV's connected to'PIPE', 'UPC', 'SKYTV' etc will not be affected. if
you have an existing UHF aerial it may be adequate to receive
'Saorview', then all you will need is an approved 'Saorview' TV or set
top box

aerial

however 'Freeview HD' TV's or equipment will.
